Random Memories

My condolences to the entire family. I think Walt did a heck of job being a father and provider.

Aaron, My memories of when I first moved to WV are a blur, but one thing that does stand out is time spent with you and your Dad. Walt treated me like part of the family from the first day he met me. In my teens and then through my twenties he was always around and we had so many random conversations, a lot of them at your expense, lol. I have been trying to think of one stand out story to tell or some way to express my condolences, but instead I here are some very random things that pop in my mind when I think about your Dad ...

Playing pool and your dad attempting to do a Jack Nicolson impression … Vacation at Top Sail Beach and he let us take out his caddie … Billy Jack Movies, not watching them but the hours he spent trying to convince me how great they are … "Run! Hide the cooler!” … How he always wanted to play cards. Every time he ever saw my Dad back in the day he tried to get us all together to play. I remember shutting that down quick because I didn’t want them comparing notes … Working with you guys after college even though I was the worst construction worker ever. Thanks for your patience Walt! … Skipping class one day to drink beer out of a disposable mini keg and talk politics with him … How he Bill Belichicked his sweatshirts better than Bill Belliceck, the collar always had to be ripped out too … The tooth brush incident (Walt I’m sorry!) … The many hours discussing his computer and his various online schemes, lol.

One of the biggest things I remember is while your friends were wasting their summer vacations/free time away doing nothing you were always off working with your dad, learning home building and business and that was key to where you ended up today. I’m sure he couldn’t have been more proud.

RIP Walt.
