Obituary for Charles Atwell "Bub" Russler

Charles Atwell "Bub" Russler, 86, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at his residence.

Born July 6, 1930 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Lena Donaldson Russler and C. Atwell Russler.

He graduated in 1948 from St. Joseph High School. He worked on his father's farm until drafted in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He then went to work for E.I. DuPont from 1956 to 1968; and then he retired from General Motors in 1994 after working there since 1968.

Farming and working in his shop were his hobbies.

He was a member of Tuscarora Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

He was Past Master of Berkeley Lodge #37 in Hedgesville, WV. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and also belonged to Lebanon No. 2 York Rite and Palestine Commandery No. 2 Knights Templar in Martinsburg, and the Shriner's. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Hollida Russler; two daughters, Shelly Vernon and husband, Ray of Westminster, MD, and Lori Russler of Gaithersburg, MD; two sons, Mike Russler and wife, Carolyn of Martinsburg, and Chuck Russler of Hedgesville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janie Aikens.

He was preceded in death by a brother, LeGarde Russler.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle or a charity of one's choice.
