Obituary for Connie Hunter Roberts

Connie Hunter  Roberts
Connie Hunter Roberts was called home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, after a short illness.

Connie, a life-long resident of Inwood, WV was born November 28, 1944 to the late Charles Hunter and Minnie Jane Keller Roberts, also of Inwood.

A graduate of Musselman High School, he joined the Army in 1964 and served as a military chaplain in Germany and Italy. He completed additional government service, then returned to Inwood where he trained to be a barber. Connie served his community as a barber until his retirement in 2017.

Connie was also an active and life-long member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, where he directed the choir, led Bible study, and taught Sunday School. He served his church community in nearly every capacity.

Connie is survived by his twin brother Ronnie Roberts (wife Donna) of Inwood, brother Jackie Roberts (wife Marie) of Clearbrook, sister Trevella Foster of Walkersville, MD, sister Sarah Butts (husband Freddy) of Inwood, and sister Becky Aikens (husband Terry) of Falling Waters. He is further survived by his beloved nephew Eric May and Eric’s family (Williamsburg, VA) as well as a multitude of blood relatives, family he chose, and friends to rival the stars in the sky.

He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Roberts, Bobby’s wife Doris Roberts, and brother-in-law Don Foster.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bunker Hill United Methodist Church for either the choir fund or the building fund (PO Box 327, Bunker Hill, WV 25413).

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 7 at 11:00AM at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, with a meal of celebration to follow at the church hall.
