Chaplain Jenks. Chaplain Jenks. Chaplain Jenks.
“Chaplain Jenks” became part of my daily vocabulary
at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center
yet I knew him for no more than two years.
It would seem like Chaplain Jenks entered my life by accident.
It was no accident. Everything happens for a reason.
Chaplain Jenks was a complete stranger to me at first,
yet in no time at all, I trusted him, and opened up myself to him
with my deepest secrets, my most painful moments, my proudest moments,
and everything in between.
We discussed the good, the bad, and the ugly.
He helped me through so much
yet that is as big of an understatement that you can find.
I am eternally grateful for everything Chaplain Jenks did for me and everything that
he continues to do for me as a result our past experiences together.
I can only imagine him right now, smoking a Cuban cigar and rooting on the Packers.
I will miss him dearly.
