Anne Lucas Emmert, 88, of Martinsburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Winchester Medical Center.


Born November 24, 1919 in Berkeley County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Eleanor Poisal Lucas.


She had been employed with Fairchild Industries and later became a buyer for F.S. Emmert & Sons.


Anne was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the St. Mary's Guild; and had been active with the Junior Civic League, Meals on Wheels, P.E.O.,and Gateway Garden Club.


She is survived by her son, Allen R. "A.R." Emmert, III and wife, Nancy of Martinsburg; two daughters, Mary Patricia Thompson Steptoe and husband, Robert M. Steptoe, Jr.of Clarksburg,WV and Laura Anne Emmert of Martinsburg; five grandchildren, Robert M. Steptoe, III, Katherine Steptoe Fisher, Elizabeth Steptoe Smailes, Anne Pendleton Steptoe, and Jennifer Sands Emmert; and three great-grandchildren, Robert M. Steptoe, IV, Charles Hastings Steptoe, and David Blake Fisher.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wilson Thompson;her second husband, Allen R. "Buzz" Emmert, Jr.; and one brother, Harry E. Lucas, Jr.


Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 1:00PM at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Martinsburg with The Rev. Julie N. Harris officiating. Private interment will be held prior to services.


The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home.
