Hilda Mae Cook Edwards, 72, of Summit Point passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Canterbury Center.

Born December 8, 1946 in Charles Town, WV she was the daughter of the late William S. White, Sr. and Jeanette Russ White.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Mount Calvary Church where she served on the Usher board and the Kitchen Committee.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Edwards; four sons, James Cook, Jr., William Cook, Charles Cook and wife, Cheryl, Kenny Cook and wife, Amy; one daughter, Angela Cook Johnson and husband, Tyrone; twenty grandchildren, including a special grandaughter Renata Foreman that she raised; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mary White, Frances Curry and husband, Chaplin, Alice Hunter, Sarah Cotton and husband, Melvin, and Jeanette Eggleton and husband, Clyde, and Thomas Foreman, grandson-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Cook, Sr.; one great-grandchild; and one brother, William S. White, Jr.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.with Pastor Alice Hunter officiating at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
