John Wayne  Riner
John Wayne Riner, Sr, age 80, Martinsburg, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on August 16, 2018 in Winchester Medical Center.

John was born January 9, 1938 in Berkeley County. He was the son of the late James Arthur and Nellie Elizabeth (Elwood) Riner.

John was a great son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a hard working man all of his life as a truck driver and dairy farmer. His last job was with Food Lion as a bagger and jack of all trades.

John was a member of Butlers Chapel United Methodist Church but attended Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Middleway, West Virginia.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years Norma Jean (Mason) Riner, four sons, John W. Riner, Jr. (Charlene), James A. (Bea), Mark E. (Tonda), and Carl M. (Tasha); 12 grandchildren: John W.III, Daniel L., Andrew S., James A. Jr., Russell (Rusty), Anthony E.(Tony), Steven W., Jonathen L., Colin M., Kathy, Sarah, and Hannah. One step Grandchild Caleb. 17 Great-grandchildren; Two step Great Grandchildren and One great Great Grandchild Owen. Five brothers, George R., Paul A., Clifford A., David A., and Michael G; and three sisters, Cora Mae Stuckey, Phyllis (Jean) Reed, and Margie Johns; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at Brown’s South Berkeley Funeral Home

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 22, 2018 at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. Johnny Faircloth officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
