Doris Lee  Nicholson (Hess)
Doris Lee Nicholson, 86, of Owings, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2018.

Born December 7, 1931 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Amos Porter Hess and Dorothy Virginia (Orr) Hess.

She was of the Protestant faith. She worked for Prince George County Board of Education for over twenty years.

She is survived by three sons, Amos N. “Buster” Nicholson and wife, Deborah of Lewis, Delaware, Alvin L. Nicholson of Owings, Maryland, Timothy D. Nicholson and wife, Tina of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; two daughters, Connie Rebecca Knepper and husband, William of Gerrardstown, WV, Deborah S. Dunn and husband, Mark of Fredericksburg, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, Garland Hess and William Hess, both of Martinsburg; a sister Mary Ann Busey and husband, Donald of Gerrardstown and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Winford Nicholson; two sons, Tony M. Nicholson and Jeffrey L Nicholson; two brothers, Amos P. Hess, Jr. and Foster Hess.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the chapel with Pastor Mark Dunn and Pastor David Palmer officiating. Interment will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
