Obituary for Virginia Kijak (Haliniak)

Virginia Kijak, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

Born September 19, 1928 in Clifton, NJ she is the daughter of the late John Haliniak and Agnes Szymanski Haliniak. In 1950, she married John Kijak, and moved to Englishtown, NJ where she lived until her retirement in 1993. Following her retirement, she moved to Falling Waters, WV to live closer to her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Martinsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was very active in her church community, and beloved by all who knew her. She enjoyed being with her family including the grandpets, doing puzzles, gardening, going out with her friends, cooking and bible study.

She is survived by one son, Philip Kijak; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Kovalski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kijak; a son, John Kijak, Jr. and a sister, Audrey Perri.

A memorial service will be held on July 15 at the Martinsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Guests may start arriving at 1:30 pm. The service will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment is private.
