Obituary for David Mitchell Viands Sr.

David Mitchell Viands, Sr. 67 of Kearneysville passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 in the Hospice Inpatient Facility surrounded by his loving family. Born October 28, 1950 in Rippon, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Lewis Viands, Sr. and Alice Virginia Woodward Viands. He was of Pentecostal faith. He was an auto technician for Catoctin Automotive, loved his family, and working on and collecting antique cars. David loved working in his yard planting flowers and his cat “Bella.”
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha Ann Morris Viands; two sons, David Viands, Jr., and wife Kathy, of Kearneysville and Timothy “Tim” Viands, and wife Debbie, of Martinsburg; two brothers, Lewis Viands, Jr., and wife JoAnn, of Harpers Ferry and Richard Viands, and wife Betty, of Kearneysville; grandchildren, Ashley Viands, and fiancé Cody, Heather Twyman, and husband Michael, and Kelly Robinson, and great grandchildren, Aiden Twyman and Emerie Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Viands.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Isaac Diggs officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel.
