Obituary for Nancy Rebecca "Becky" James
Our Beloved Mother Nancy Rebecca “Becky” James went to be with the Lord
November 6, 2017.
Born August 21, 1939 in Bedington, she was the daughter of the late George W. Snyder and Margaret Irene Jacobs Snyder.
Mom was a dedicated and hard worker. She worked nearly 40 years in the hosiery manufacturing business starting at the Interwoven Mills then to Winchester Hosiery before retiring at Royce Hosiery Mills.
Mom was a woman of strong faith believing in the power and strength of her Lord.
Family and friends were Mom’s love and joy. She loved to play bingo with her friends and baking her famous applesauce cakes for those special loved ones at Christmas time.
Her greatest legacy is your great – grandchildren Cameron, Lexi, Kila, and those precious twins Preston Mitchell and Parker James. She lit the room up with her smile every time they were near her.
She is survived by her two sons, George H. Largent and wife Juanita of Martinsburg, David L. James and wife Marsha of Gloucester, VA, and one daughter Barbara E. Wright and husband Frank of Falling Waters. Her five grandchildren Denise, Mitchell, Katarina, Brittany and Danielle and nine great-grandchildren. One brother Gary W. Snyder and two sisters Bonnie Fraley and Connie Noll. She also leaves behind many of caring relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and siblings she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Ernest S. James.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was an inspiration to us all. Until we meet again we will keep you in our memories and hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, November 11 at Brown’s Funeral Home in Martinsburg with Pastor Randy Reid officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6 – 8 Friday, November 10.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at Harmony United Methodist Church of Falling Waters following the funeral.
