Ronald Luther  Reisbig
Ronald Luther Reisbig, 79, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his home in Shepherdstown, WV. He was born January 31, 1938, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Reinhold Reisbig and Agnes Stone Reisbig. He attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, then worked for Boeing, in Seattle, WA, until returning to MSU to complete his PhD. He taught at Western Michigan U, U Missouri, and U Houston before serving as Dean of Engineering at Western New England U and at Embry Riddle Aeronautical U, where he also served as Vice-Chancellor. He dedicated his life to academia, working to expand and improve both physical facilities and quality instruction. He was on the team that designed the engine for the Saturn rocket and attended launches at Kennedy Space Center. During his career, he published numerous research papers, presented his results in national and international symposia, and edited a book on Heat Transfer. He loved to sail and raced with the Daytona Beach Yacht Club for many years. “Luther” is survived by his wife, Maylene (Ross) Reisbig and children Dawn Ronelle, MA, Eric Luther (wife, Tracy), MA, Katharine Elyse, MA, and Kerrick Stephenson, WV, and grandchildren Chase and Courtney, and his brother, Gary (Carole) Reisbig, MI.
