Obituary for Harry Merrill Strickland

Harry Merrill Strickland, a resident of Willow Tree Nursing Home went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 3rd, 1937. He was the son of the late Reverend and Mrs. H.M. Strickland.
He was a graduate of the class of 1955 from Martinsburg High School. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force before starting his 31 year career with IBM. After retiring from IBM, he worked at PepsiCo for 6 years then retired.
His is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Barnhart Strickland, son Jeff and Maria of Manila, Philippines, his son Reverends Steve and Diane of Wesley Chapel, Florida and his son David and Monique of Yahala, Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 sisters Bernice Folta of Harrisonburg Virginia and Sharon Sherrard with husband Reverend Robert Sherrard of Millboro Virginia; and brother-in-law Tom Claxton of Mobile, AL.
Preceding him in death was a sister Lois Claxton, brother-in-law Philip Folta and his parents.
Upon his request, his body was donated to MedCure for medical research. There will be a memorial and Home-going Celebration at Bethel Assembly of God, on Tavern Road at 11am, Saturday April 29th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Bethel Assembly of God, designated for missions, 2010 Tavern Road, Martinsburg, WV
