Condolence: Tim was a U. S. Geological Survey colleague and a friend. It was always a joy to see Tim at a meeting or workshop and to hear him explain complex topics in an understandable way. All of us in the NC State University community have the family in our thoughts during this time of grief.

Condolence: My heratfelt condolences to the family, friends and office and lab members. I have known Tim since 2010 when he hired me to work on one of his many projects -remotely from Blacksburg, VA. He was a very good person to work with, always encouraging and spending long hours to get the project done. A very scientifically curious person, he could not say "No" to any scientific project or proposal, because of which he was always working long hours. May his soul rest in peace. Joshua Shallom

Condolence:
I wish to send my deepest condolences to Tim's family and colleagues! I met him first time in 2004 as a young PhD student at an international meeting for researchers working with various Atlantic salmon population genetic questions. Already then I knew who I'd like to be my opponent in the public examination on my thesis. It was a great joy to me when the dissertation was finally ready that Tim agreed to act as my thesis examiner and opponent. I have only wonderful memories of that day and the discussion we had. I couldn't have had a better and kinder opponent!

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about Tim. I've known Tim for several years and had the honor of getting to know him even better when I came to WVU as their conservation geneticist. Tim has been a mentor to me, offering me much support and encouragement. He was a true inspiration. His passion for conservation and genetics was contagious. His kindness and thoughtfulness were a blessing and I am glad I knew him as not only my colleague, but as a friend. Tim leaves behind a tremendous legacy and continues to live on through all the lives he has touched in such a positive way... I hope knowing that brings you some comfort each day. My sincerest condolences.

Condolence: Dear King family,

I was surprised and profoundly saddened to learn that Tim passed away. I only worked with Tim for about two and a half years, but during that time I found him to be kind, generous, helpful, knowledgeable, creative, and VERY hard working. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.

Sincerely,
John Miller
