The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Chaplain Steven Jenks can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Nancy and family, at this time of your great loss. We discovered Steve's passing while checking condolence messages for Pat, our beloved wife and mother -- whom we lost to cancer and kidney disease on Sept. 6. We still think of you folks when you were part of our church family at New Street UMC, Shepherdstown, for Steve's infectious use of humor throughout all his activities, and your good work with our Youth. But, especially, we remember Steve baptizing our grandson, Kaziah, with the assistance of our son, Jim, who was a Seminarian at the time. Kaz is now pursuing a Master of Music in Composition Degree at Syracuse University; God gave him a particular talent in music arranging and composing, and he is using it well. Pastor Jim is a Senior Pastor of a growing UMC church in the Honolulu suburb of Aiea [Aiea UMC], and has been here for Pat's final days and her passing, and has been a great comfort and help to all of us. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and remain with you, to support and sustain you during this time of loss of Steve.
