Obituary for Lorraine Ware (Shriver)

Lorraine Shriver Ware, 86, of Maurertown,VA, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living in Maurertown, VA.

Born November 6, 1931, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lester C. Shriver and Blanche Foltz Shriver.

She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Winchester, VA. She retired from Fort Pierce School Board as an Executive Secretary.

Lorraine was an avid reader, she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross for five years, and with Billy Grahams “The Cove” and she was very active in her church.

She is survived by one son, Mark Ware and wife, Debbi Mengel Ware of Tryon, NC; one daughter, Kathy Hart of Winchester; three grandchildren, Brian Ware, Lane Ware, and Austin Hart; a niece, Leigh McGill and husband Dan McGill of Winchester; and a nephew, Michael Ridgeway of Winchester.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ware; one son, William Craig Ware; and one sister, Cleo Ridgeway.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home prior to the service

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22607.
