Obituary for June Folk (Whitacre)

June Whitacre Folk, 91, of Martinsburg passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Meritus Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1927 in Cross Junction, VA she was the daughter of the late Noble Dean Whitacre and Rowena Braithwaite Whitacre.

She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church; a charter member of CEO; a 1945 graduate of Martinsburg High School; and founding leader of the Swan Pond 4-H Club.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel W. Folk of Hedgesville, David P. Folk of Trent, TX; three daughters, Connie Folk Yerian of Ashfork, AZ, Scarlett Folk Crawmer of Las Cruces, NM, and Colleen Fulk Mang of Berkeley Springs; thirteen grandchildren, Dandrea, Daniel, Derek, David, Lora, Beth, Luke, Jube, Myriah, Troy, Loretta, Flint, and Rochelle; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick Whitacre of Martinsburg; and one sister, Katy Frye of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Fleming Folk.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Carroll Williams officiating. Interment will be in Falling Waters Presbyterian Cemetery at Spring Mills.

Family will receive friends from 9:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
