Marie Catherine   Luksa
Marie Catherine Luksa, 85, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born December 1, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Marie McCarthy.
She was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, involved in Religious Education programs, the Director of Associates for Community Development and Director of the Berkeley County Meals on Wheels Program.
Marie enjoyed gardening and sailing.
She is survived by three sons, Andrew W. Luksa, Jr. and wife Peggy, Michael A. Luksa and wife Deborah, David A. Luksa and wife Kathy; three daughters, Maria T. Thackston and husband Ray, Marliene Martin and husband David, Kristin Harden and husband Eric; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Sr. Marliene McCarthy SSJ, Jan Miller, and Kathy Conway and husband Richard.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew W. Luksa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Thomas Gallagher celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph Catholic Church 336 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, WV 25401 and Hospice of the Panhandle 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
