Karla Deanne Lightcap, 42, of Inwood, became an angel overlooking us after a long battle with leukemia on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Born March 7,1975 in Martinsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late Daniel I. W. Hess, Jr. and her living mother Linda A. Lucas Hess and partner, Terry L. Wheeler;

In addition she is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Lightcap, III; three sons, Joseph E. Lightcap IV, Zachary T. Lightcap, and Dayton R. Lightcap all at home; two brothers, Kevin D. Hess and wife, Deneise of Gerrardstown and Kelly D. Hess and wife, Jennifer of Martinsburg; one sister, Kathryn D. Chadwick and husband, Alex of Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Kaiden, Landen, Kristina, and Kortnie Hess, Alexis, and Kamryn Chadwick; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Karla was preceded in death by one brother Scott D. Hess.

Karla was a caring, loving, patient, and passionate woman who put family and friends above all else.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
