Obituary for Daniel Leon "Pops" Hardy

Daniel Leon Hardy, “Pops,” 72, of Harpers Ferry, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home. Born June 15, 1944, in Harpers Ferry, he was the son of the late Samuel Lewis Hardy and Gracie Virginia Dillow Hardy.
He was self-employed as a painter.
He is survived by his son, Daniel “Clayton” Hardy, of Harpers Ferry, his daughter, Tammy Getts, and husband Ronnie, of Monkton, Maryland; 3 brothers: Mark Junior Hardy, of Harpers Ferry, Frank Hardy, and wife Diane, of Kearneysville, and Willie Hardy, of Ranson; 2 sisters: Angela Moran, and husband Herman, of Inwood, and Shirley Kircher, and husband James, of Harpers Ferry, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Leon Hardy, 3 brothers: Charles Reno Hardy, Matthew Harrison Hardy, and Mike Lee Hardy, and 5 sisters: Mary Elizabeth Moore, Edna Mae Lanham, Ellen Geraldine Ware, Nora Marguerite Hardy, and Brenda Diane Hardy.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Murrill Hill United Methodist Church with Vel Anne Schlachter officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
