Obituary for Joseph Scobee Stirman

Joseph Scobee Stirman, 90, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016 at the Julia Manor in Hagerstown, MD.

Born April 26, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri, he was the son of the late Joseph Scobee Stirman and Helen Krause Stirman.

He retired as a Southern Baptist minister after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Westview Baptist Church. He also was a 17 year-volunteer at Canterbury Center of Shepherdstown and also with Culpeper Baptist Home. Joe loved to sing solos at church and sang with the Lazy River Band at the Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Cadd Stirman; son, Ray Stirman; and daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Wiggins, both of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Stirman, of Louisville, KY.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home.

Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Dugger officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
