I had the privilege of being in Mr. Horowicz's class for two years in Talmudical Academy. He was like no teacher I ever had. He truly taught me how to learn and enjoy history. Whenever he gave a lesson it was never just a subject to him but a story. Every lesson was accompanied by one of his personal examples, brochures from places he'd been, and even an occasional teddy bear. One had the feeling of not only learning but also getting to know him through the class. The lessons were fun and interactive. We would spend days building a government or partaking in a fake stock market. Everybody loved him. Even after he left TA people would still talk about him. Whenever he visited people would come from running from all over the campus to see him. On school trips, the class would even call him up just to talk with him again. His death affected the whole High school and it is a true testament to his character that even after two years of absence he still has such a profound affect on us. We miss him and are grateful for the times we had with him.
