Obituary for Kimberly Anne Mezzanotte

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kimberly Anne Prendergast Mezzanotte at age 51. Kim was the elder daughter of the late James and Barbara Prendergast. Kim leaves her sister, Dawn Prendergast Owens and husband, Bob; her son, Nickolas Ryan Mezzanotte and significant other, Taylor Nicole Combs; and Brent Cavalier, Kim’s loving life companion and his two children, Gabrielle and Mason, behind to mourn her. Kim was the proud Nana of her cherished three year-old granddaughter, Katie Anne Mezzanotte. She was the granddaughter of the late Frank Prendergast, and Robert and Bernice Brandon. Her special relatives Rhoda and Gary Miller, Jeffrey Miller and Jeri Miller Pesce will greatly miss her. Kim was born and reared in Fairmont. She is a graduate of East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State University. Her career took her to Maryland, at engineering firms including Dewberry & Davis, and Macris, Hendricks & Glascock. She held various positions in the design and management of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in Montgomery County, and in the public sector where she worked in Development Review for Frederick County. Kim and Brent lived in Charles Town until her death. She enjoyed her dachshund, Haley, and cooking for friends. For the final days of her life, she was in the loving care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville WV, 25430, or online at hospiceotp.org. Please come celebrate Kim’s life with us at her memorial, October 3rd from 1-4 at Heston Farm, 1602 Tulip Lane, Fairmont.
