Elsie May Orndorff Morrow, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Springfield, VA. Mrs. Morrow was born in Martinsburg, WV on August 26, 1923, a daughter of the late Angelo Grandstaff and Nora "Fannie" Keller Orndorff.
She was a 1941 graduate of Martinsburg High School. In 1945, she married Randolph C. Morrow, the love of her life. They lived in Martinsburg until his death in November 2009, when she moved to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Birmingham, AL, and since 2014, in Springfield, VA.
She worked outside the home until 1952, when she became a full-time homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Since childhood, she has been a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church, ministering to the I.C. Bucy Sunday School Class, which her husband taught. She made an effort to make church visitors and members feel welcome and appreciated through her friendly greetings, telephone calls, and thoughtful cards. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:00PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00PM at Brown Funeral Home, 327 West King Street, Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas Hollida and Rev. Ben Manning will officiate. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
