Robert Wright  Parker
Robert Wright Parker, 81, of Alexandria, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 while at the Inova Alexandria Hospital. Born July 5, 1934, in Luray, VA, he was the son of the late R.W. Parker and Ruby Lucille Taylor Parker.
Robert loved the Lord and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church, serving in the bus ministry, visitation, and the church choir. The last church he attended was the Heritage Baptist Church.
Robert served in the United States Army as a mechanic, was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic, and was last employed by NET Services. He was quick-witted and very mechanically inclined. He had a playful sense of humor and the joy of his life was spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Thelma Frances Thompson Parker; 3 children: Penny Parker, of Hampton, VA, Mark Parker, of Stafford, VA, and Jennifer Pisconte, and husband Julio, of Woodbridge; son-in-law Tim Hesselbach, of Hampton, VA; 4 grandchildren: Amber, Caleb, and wife Ashley, Raven, and Lora, and 4 great grandchildren: Makayla, Trevor, Emma, and Lucas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother, Earl Parker, and his two sisters, Sarah Lou Hamlin-Parker and Shirley Maxine Parker-Bean.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm, Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Michael Edwards officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Middleway, WV.
