Obituary for Karen Denise ""Dee Dee"" Walters (Campbell)

Karen “Dee Dee” Denise Campbell Walters, 54 of Inwood, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home. Born May 1, 1961 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Norman “Jake” Rufus Campbell and Evelyn Johnson Campbell. She was of the Baptist faith, graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1979. Dee Dee was a bartender for the AMVETS, Post 30. She dearly loved always lending a helping hand, caregiver for her brother in-law, active in fundraising for autism, cancer and veterans and was an angel to her furry friends. She always made friends wherever she went. She was an avid Cowboys fan.

She is survived by one sister, Vicki Clevenger and husband Billy Joe of Shepherdstown, niece, Dana Marie Caniford, nephew, David Campbell of Shepherdstown, great nephews: Cody Webb and Evan Gilbert, who knew her as Aunt Froggy, uncles, Charlie Johnson and wife Norma of Charles Town and Al Johnson and wife Doris of Laurel, MD, aunt, Pat Johnson of Charles Town, companion, David “Crick” Bennett, best friend, Susie Baker of Inwood, her miniature collie, Buddy Boy and all of her close friends and family at AMVETS.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Martha Ann Evans Caniford.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Floyd “Bucky” Chapman officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
