Dixie Maxine  James
Dixie Maxine (Steele) James, 96, of Martinsburg, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Canterbury Center.

Born June 17, 1918 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Leslie and Elizabeth Tudor Steele.

During her lifetime, she was employed at People's Drug Store as a cosmetologist.

She was a charter member of Westview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Jean DiBartolomeo of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Clifford Steele of Louisville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie M. James; her son, Leslie Wayne James; her brother, Clifton Steele; and two sisters, Alice Maudine Bowles and Orene Steele Hensley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Kelly and Rev. Bryan Dugger. officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the Church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in her name to the Westview Baptist Church Building Fund.
