Obituary for Robert Lee Wolf Sr.

Robert Lee  Wolf Sr.
Robert Lee Wolf, Sr., 88, of Kearneysville, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the VA Medical Center.

Born November 23, 1925 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late John Curtis Wolf, Sr. and Nellie Virginia Gano Wolf.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1944-1965. Also worked at Mack Truck from 1965-1987 until his retirement.

He was a 50 plus year member of the United Church of Christ. During his membership, he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder, and on the Consistory. He was a member of the Mason Lodge, the Navy Fleet Reserve, and the American Legion. He was also a 50 year member of the Equality Lodge AF & AM.

Mr. Wolf is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy Ellen Raines Wolf; two children Robert Lee Wolf, Jr. and wife, Machelle Grove Wolf of Harpers Ferry and Sandra K. Wolf Nichols and husband, Wayne, of Kearneysville; four grandchildren, Douglas Nichols of Charles Town, Rachel Nichols Brown and husband, Jason, of Ft. Dix, NJ, Meagan Grove, and Denver Wolf, of Harpers Ferry; two great-grandchildren, Laura Brown and J.J. Brown; and two sisters, Mary Sue Henry, of Martinsburg, and Jean J. Herzog of Hemet, CA.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas F., J. Curtis Wolf and George T. Wolfe; and two sisters, Peggy Ann Bell and Virginia L. Porterfield.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Parker Hinzman officiating.

Military graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Palliative Care Unit, c/o VA Medical Center, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
