Obituary for Steve Adams

Steve Adams, 71. of Inwood, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at his residence.

Born July 23, 1942 in Winchester, VA, he was the son of the late Kenneth R. Adams and Mary Bell (DeHaven) Adams.

Mr. Adams was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was an electrician for the VA Medical Center for 35 years.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Jean (Samsell) Adams; two brothers, Jerry Adams, of Harrisonburg, VA, and Jimmy Adams and wife, Pat, of Columbia, SC; and three sisters, Shirley Jackson and Kaye Rush and husband, Bill, both of Winchester, and Faye Carver, of Stephens City, VA, and a sister-in-law, Glennis Garnes and husband, Sam, of Chambersburg, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Brown Funeral Home.

Private graveside service will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with Chaplain Doug Knupp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
