Obituary for Leonard Washington "Junior" Viands

Leonard Washington “Junior” Viands, 83 of Ranson passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his home. Born January 20, 1936 in Harpers Ferry he was the son of the late Leonard Washington Viands, Sr. and Annie Lee Wilt Viands. Junior managed the Bett-More Orchard for over 30 years and worked as a carpenter shop worker at the Halltown Paperboard for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Darlene Bullis Viands, sons; Michael Viands of Ranson and Leonard Lee Viands of Martinsburg, Beau Matchett of Ranson, daughter Samantha Matchett , four grandchildren, Tristen, Hailie, Kyleigh and Bentley, one step grandchild Cordell and two great grandchildren, Landon and Aaliyah
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine May D’Angelo, brothers, Carl, Tom, Charles, Gene and Theodore Viands (two baby brothers) and sisters, Rosie Penwell, Lillian Ott, Mildred Cline and Ida Anderson.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Reverend Bev Turner officiating. Interment will be private.
