Gloria Jean Kees, 72, of Back Creek Valley passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Berkeley Medical Center.
Born September 2, 1946 in Martinsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late John William and Mary Evelyn Everhart Parkinson.
She was a graduate of Musselman High School class of 1964. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Back Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Company. Gloria was a homemaker for years, she and her late husband worked and owned the Kees Garage and Pool Room. She also worked at Interwoven Mills, Video Invasion, Candies by Dallas, and Glengary Grocery.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Barber and husband Steve; Janis Bucklew and husband Steve; and Melissa Kees; one son James Lee Kees, II and wife Tammy; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Parkinson; and two sisters, Mary Kathryn Parsons and husband Dale, and Patricia Ann Hess and husband Curtis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Kees; and two brothers, William and David Parkinson.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 6 :00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Chapel with Greg Frye officiating. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
