Obituary for William Jonathan "Billy Jon" Snyder
William Jonathan “Billy Jon” Snyder, 81, of Shepherdstown, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Care Haven.
Born September 11,1941, he was the son of the late Harry Paxton and Treva LeMaster Wroe Snyder.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School Class of 1959.
Billy Jon drove a truck for over 40 years, and the majority of those years he hauled milk from the farms. Also, he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Walker Snyder; son, Charles Paxton Snyder and wife, Sharon; daughter, Margaret Ellen Snyder Gainey and husband, Tony; son Jonathan Whitmore Snyder and wife, Patti; grandchildren, Charles Paxton Snyder Jr., Christopher Allen Gaylor, Evan Matthew Snyder, Camille Perla Snyder; three great grandchildren, Snow Hailee Gaylor, Heaven Raine Gaylor, Jackson Chase Snyder; and nephew George R. Glassford, Jr. and wife, Marti, and George's sons, Justin and Jeremy; sister, Melinda Winstead and son, Erik Winstead; brothers, Harry R. Snyder and wife, Lucy, and sons, Kenny and Stephen; Robert Mark Snyder (Karen) and children, Amanda and Nathan; sister in-law, Vivian Snyder and son, Timothy; brother in-law, Joe Small and children, Christian and Courtney.
In addition to his parents William “Billy Jon” was preceded in death by his brother, Paxton Greg Snyder and sister Suellyn Snyder Small.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Homes South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Joseph Burwell officiating.
Interment will be private.
