We are gathered here today to celebrate and pay respect to a wonderful man: Teofilo Garces Garibaldi, who died unexpectedly on December 19, 2022. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.
Teofilo was born on July 5, 1951 in Colon Rep of Panama. He was the son of the late Teofilo Garces Perez and Delia Maria Garces Garibaldi.
He attended Colegio Abel Bravo High School. He worked for the Free Zone in Colon Rep of Panama from 1968 to 1976, worked for the Panama Canal from 1976 where he retired in 1999. He migrated to the USA on October 5, 2003.
Teofilo is survived and missed by his loving and devoted wife Sandra Natalia Garces of 51 years and his children, Teofilo Garces and wife Magdalena, Amrit Garces and wife Nedelka, Arion Garces and wife Aminta, Yolaika Garces and husband Yahir Rivas, Yahir was more than a son in law to him, he was like a son; 7 granddaughters, 4 grandsons and 1 great grandson; sisters, Aracelis, Mayra, Isidora, Delia and Iliana; brothers, German and wife Ana and Javier; 8 nephews,6 nieces, 5 brother in laws, 8 sister in laws and lots of cousins.
Teofilo, who we all called Filin never said no to anyone's needs and was never scared to take on any difficult challenge that was presented in his life. He always said “God is in control and everything is going to be ok”. He had very strong values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. He was a great dad to his kids, and if help was ever needed it came so freely from him.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have him in our lives. He was a blessing and God's gift to everyone he came across and brought so much joy to us.
