Obituary for Susan Stanley
J. Susan Stanley, 75, of Shepherdstown, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Jefferson Medical Center.
Born November 6, 1945, in Coral Gables, FL, she was the daughter of the late James East and Alice Hill White.
She was a member of Uvilla United Methodist Church.
Susan was a devoted wife and mother, she loved going on motorcycle rides with Charles and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Stanley; five sons, Bobby Ortez, Curtis Ortez, David Ortez, Chuck Stanley, and James Stanley; one daughter, Angela Kinard; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one brother, Ralph Carroway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Young.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday May 6, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Uvilla United Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction, with Pastor John Langenstein officiating. Interment will be private.
