Obituary for Stewart William "Bill" Hoffmaster
Stewart William “Bill” Hoffmaster, 77, of Martinsburg passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, life-long resident of Berkeley County.
Born September 29, 1943 in Martinsburg, WV he is the son of the late Stewart Hoffmaster and Mary Faircloth Hoffmaster.
He was a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church and attended Martinsburg High School. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who immensely enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was “everyone’s friend”. His smile and laughter was contagious, he was a social butterfly. His love for fixing and eating food with family was his happy place.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karen D. Mongan Hoffmaster; two daughters who idolized their Dad, Shana Grove and husband, David and Danica Hoffmaster, husband, Greg; two grandchildren, Sarah England and husband, Caleb, and Kyle Grove; one great-granddaughter, Brynlee Burke Grove, all of Wichita Falls, TX; siblings, Sandy Leonard, Trula Wright, Butch Hoffmaster, Sam Hoffmaster, and Roy Hoffmaster; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved close friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph C. Hoffmaster. Due to COVID-19, the family will have a celebration of Bill’s life at a future date to be announced when it is safe and warmer for everyone to be together once again.
