Obituary for Sharyn Elaine Hockensmith (Penwell)
Sharyn Elaine Hockensmith, 71, of Falling Waters passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown.
Born June 26, 1949 in Charles Town, she is the daughter of the late Virginia Hite Penwell and the late Robert Penwell. She will be greeted in the afterlife by her sisters; Joyce Anne Penwell and Donna Morris.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Hockensmith; two sons, Richard “Richie” Hockensmith, II and wife, Brande, and Joseph Groves, Jr.; two stepdaughters, Carol Hockensmith and Tammy Hockensmith; three grandchildren, Trey Hockensmith, Grayson Hockensmith, and Blair Hockensmith; and a niece, Kelly Penwell.
A private service and interment will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Doey’s House,11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD, 21742, in Sharyn’s memory.
