Obituary for Ruth Miller (Marpole)

Heaven gained an Angel, Ruth Miller passed at home surrounded by family on Saturday, March 13th.

Born in Berkeley County, WV on July 2, 1935. She was the daughter of the late William and Leota (Slonaker) Marpole. She married her loving husband, Harold G. Miller and celebrated 70 wonderful years together.

She worked at Musselman High School for 15 years and various seasonal jobs. She taught Sunday School at Faith Tabernacle Church. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and Mom Maw. She left a legacy of prayers and poems.

She is survived by daughter Beckie Smith and husband Ken, son Randy Miller and wife Tammy, son Tim Miller and wife Sue, daughter Shelia Boyle and Michael Baker, daughter Rhonda Faircloth, daughter Faith Funkhouser and husband Mike; grandchildren, Tanner Neely, Tori Harding and husband Ben, Craig Miller and wife Jami, Delaine Toup and husband David, Dustin Miller, Joseph Miller, Willetta Miller, Jaclyn Miller, Jami Kees and husband Wes, Andrea Kammerdiener and husband Alex, Ruthie Jones and Brendan, Nikki Hutzler and Paul, Elysse Brunk and husband Andrew, Lauren Wilt and husband Dillon, Emily Nichols and husband Dallas; 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way. She is also survived by sister Polly Foster. She has numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Rev Louise Barrett, Eleanor Self, Spencer Marpole, Wilda Newbraugh, Harold Marpole, Lyle Marpole, Patsy Hess, and Larry Marpole; Son-in-Law Charles Faircloth.

The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

A celebration of life will be held at Faith Tabernacle in Gerrardstown, WV on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Hersel Bennett and Pastor Nathan Travis officiating.
