Obituary for Rev. Kenneth Leroy Reed
Rev. Kenneth Leroy Reed, 85, of Martinsburg, WV, went home to his Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2020 while under the care of Hospice.
Born June 3, 1935 in Clarion County, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. James K. Reed and Eva (Theiss) Reed.
He was an Ordained Pastor and served his Lord in the Wesleyan Church for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth I. Reed; two daughters, Rev. Sharon Lynn Reed-Lowans and husband Rev. Jerry Lowans of Martinsburg, Melody Lea Swartz and husband, Richard of Martinsburg; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Ford and husband, Blake, Rachel Roach and husband Zach, Joshua Householder and wife, Sarah, Hannah Tyler and husband, Matthew, and Kenny Shaw; five great-grandchildren; one brother, James H. Reed of Waynesburg, PA; and two sisters, Clara Hovis of Fayetteville, AR, and Lisa Marsh of Franklin, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles E., John W. and Clyde E. Reed; and one sister, Faye A. Reed; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Snyder’s Bible Church, 10980 Martinsburg Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427 with Rev. Leland Collins and Rev. Jerry Lowans officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be in Snyder’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
