Obituary for Phyllis L. Stanley (Triggs)

George W. Stanley, 82, and Phyllis L. Stanley, 84, passed away at the Berkeley Medical Center.

George was born April 11, 1938 in Berkeley County, WV, and passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was the son of the late Walter L. Stanley and Essie Leona "E. Leona" Miller Stanley.

Phyllis was born July 22, 1936 in Martinsburg, WV and passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Anna Mary Hutzler Triggs.

George had been employed at Frye Quarry; and was a member of Salvation Army and the Moose #120.
Phyllis had been employed with Perfection Garment and Grenada Seamstress Company; and a member of Salvation Army.

George is survived by two sons, George W. Stanley, II and Philip E. Stanley; one daughter, Essie Louise Stanley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Bowers; and two brothers, Walter L. Stanley, Jr. and James C. Stanley, Sr.

Phyllis is survived by three sons, Lewis W. Prather, Jr., Ronald L. Prather, and Darrell S. Prather; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Grove, Margaret V. Messick, and Essie Louise Stanley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles S. Triggs; and three sisters, Peggy A. Walker, Frances I. Smith, and Barbara F. Rice. She was preceded in death by one son, Perry M. Prather; and one brother, Howard D. Triggs.

The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends and family only on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Cpt. Joshua Webb officiating.
