Nancy L. Warner, age 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Hedgesville, WV. Nancy was born on August 27, 1953 in New Jersey to Joseph Shepherd and Doris Shepherd. A caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and closest friend. Her faith in the God of the Bible, love of family, friends, and life impacted everyone who knew her and her family.
She married the love of her life, Simon Warner, in July of 1991. The way in which Nancy lived her life inspired all who met her. Nancy had a life-long love for gardening, baking, and crocheting. Her other hobbies included helping her family and friends with whatever she could, placing friends and family before herself in everything she did, loving her six Nigerian Dwarf Goats. She had a laughter and love that healed the heart and blessed every life she touched.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Simon Warner; children J. Jason Shepherd and Joshua Warner; grandchildren William Eugene Rivera, Natasha Shepherd, Brenden Shepherd, Tristen Hansen, Ethan Shepherd, Audrey Rogers, Chase Lawrence Rivera; siblings Diana Shepherd, Charles Shepherd and his wife Angela, and Janet Hall and her husband Gregory; Cousins Sharon Musson, Leslie Claxton, Denise Federici and her husband Jerry, Maryann Luthy and her husband Gary, Leland Ryder Jr. and his wife Choi, John Ryder and his wife Mary Lou; mother-in-law Heather Mary Warner; sister-in-law Lisa Warner Wardell and her husband Charles LeRoy Wardell; nephews and nieces Justin "The Boy" and his wife Carla “The Girl”, Amanda Phelps-Smith and her husband Terry, Michael Andre Pickrum, Jayson Shepherd, Isaac Alexander Pickrum, Tucker Charles Wardell, Coleman Wardell, Tate Carlton Wardell, Grace Elizabeth Wardell. She is also survived by extended family and many beloved friends. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Doris Shepherd; father-in-law Robert “Bob” Alexander Warner.
A celebration of life will be on Friday May 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the South Berkley Chapel, 287 Arden Nollville Rd, Inwood, WV 25428. Burial to follow at Central Chapel, Back Creek Valley Road, Hedgesville, WV. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required.
The family requests that all who can on Friday May 21st, no matter where you are, wear purple in honor of Nancy’s favorite color and the color she wore to battle cancer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you find someone to bless and bless them in loving kindness, as Nancy did though-out her life.
