Obituary for Monte Phillip Steele
Monte Phillip Steele, 79, of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at his home.
Born August 10, 1943, in Steeles, WV, he was the son of the late Warren Steele and Nellie Fortner Steele.
He was of Protestant faith and a Union Local 2311 Piledriver. He was a retired Owner and Horse Trainer.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Gilbert Steele; one son, Shane Steele; two daughters, Kimberly Steele Thomas and husband Donald, Shelly Shackelford and husband James; three grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Trever Thomas, Shelby Shackelford; one great granddaughter, Danielle Shackelford; and one sister, Regina Benivene McKonly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Warren Steele and Jeffrey Don Steele.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Interment is private.
