Obituary for Max Ashton Mosse

Max Ashton Mosse, 79, of Martinsburg passed away peacefully watching his favorite movie on Monday, December 21, 2020 surrounded by family at Clary Grove.

Born March 20, 1941, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Max Wilson Mosse and Ruth Elizabeth Ashton Mosse.

Max worked for the Martinsburg City Police for 22 years. He was a lifetime member of the FOP Lodge # 83, created the first light bar for the city police, designed the police patch, and designed the quick release for the police dog cages for the 1st K-9 Unit. He was a Studebaker man, and with the help of his good friend Ron, he helped bring back the Soap Box Derby in Martinsburg. In addition, Max was the founder of Maxlock Locksmith Services.

Max is survived by three daughters Dina Edwards and husband, Jeff, Andrea Brown and husband, Ray, and Heather Pleasants and husband, Carl; grandchildren, Ian Edwards, Andrea Edwards, Keith Brown, Logan Brown, Ashton Pleasants, and Hayley Pleasants: great grandchildren, Zachary, Kori, Bentley, Kenzie, Liam, Paisley, Maddox, and Tanner; and sister, Yvonne Paul of Winter Park, FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomi Engle Mosse.

A memorial service will be held at Brown Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
