Obituary for Matthew Ray Childs
Matthew Ray Childs, 48, of Martinsburg passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at his residence after a battle with cancer.
Born January 20, 1974 in Martinsburg he is the son of Richard O. Childs and Kathleen P. Simoes (Dwayne Johnson). Matthew attended schools in Jefferson County and Marion County, Florida.
He is survived his wife, Lucille Pellegrino Childs of Martinsburg; two sons, Joshua Pellegrino and Drake Childs both of Martinsburg; one daughter, Shannon Hester of Alabama; two brothers, Cody Childs, Jr., of Martinsburg and Phillip Childs of Charleston, two grandmothers, Patricia Kloss of Ocala, FL and Arline Simoes of Port St. Lucia, FL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Margaret and John Laycock of Summit Point and Ralph Simoes of Key Largo, FL.
Services and interment will be private.
