Mary Morgan Davis, 83, of Falling Waters passed away on August 8, 2021 at the Hospice of the Panhandle in West Virginia.
Mary was born December 9, 1937 in Clarksburg, she was the daughter of the late Amos Earl Morgan and Mary Susan Hamilton Morgan.
She graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Elementary Education and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She taught elementary school in Alexandria, Virginia; Beltsville, Maryland, and retired from the Fairfax County, Virginia school system. Mary’s passion for teaching continued after her retirement. She volunteered at the Berkeley County Historical Society and was an active member of the Pack Horse Ford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving for several years as the chair of their historical essay contest.
Mary was married for 60 years to John Litchfield Davis and is survived by her husband, their children, Michael William Davis and wife, Gabriele and Andrew Morgan Davis and wife, Ann; four grandchildren, Leila Busey, John Davis, Talia Arvizo and Ben Davis; five great-grandchildren, Kai, Kollyn, and Kolby Walker, and Addyson and Isabella Busey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard L. Morgan and wife, Barbara, one niece, Kimberly Morgan Slider, one Sister, Dorothea Kunzelman and husband, George, and one nephew, Fred Kunzelman.
As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, 117 E Burke St Martinsburg, WV 25401.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Christ Reformed UCC, 117 East Burke Street Martinsburg, WV 25401 with Dr Thomas Hartshorn officiating.
