Obituary for Mary Beuchert (Hughes)
Mary Hughes Beuchert, 90, of Harpers Ferry, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in the Shenandoah Nursing Home.
Born September 19, 1930, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Sharon Hughes and Elizabeth Byessee Hughes.
Mary was a member of the Greater St. James Catholic Church and very involved with the St. James Woman’s Club. She had worked for the Borghese Lamp Shade Company as an assembly line worker.
She is survived by her son, “Butch” Beuchert, III, of Luray, Virginia; daughter, Margaret Ann Duncan, of Inwood; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Joseph Beuchert, Jr; two brothers, Ralph and William “Billy” Hughes; sister, Ann Hughes, and a grandson, Larry Long.
A funeral mass will be held 10 am, Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Greater St. James Catholic Church with Father Leonard Smith officiating.
Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home.
Visitors are required to properly wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines.
