Marjorie Brookshire-Phipps, 88, of Inwood, West Virginia passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023 at Julia Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born March 19, 1935 at home in Patterson Creek, West Va. Marjorie “Marge” was the daughter of the late George Logsdon and Gladys Long and grew up with her brothers (John, Gary and Wayne). She graduated from Fort Ashby High School and attended West Virginia Wesley College. Marge was employed as a clerical assistant at Marelco Inc. then later as a clerical assistant for the Maryland Department of Agriculture. After retirement, Marge moved back to West Virginia.
Marge was most known for her love of helping people. Marge took in a multitude of foster children for many years with her first late husband, William Walker Brookshire. As time went on, Marge continued helping people by driving dialysis patients to appointments with her late husband Lindsay Jackson Phipps. Marge also volunteered at the local Methodist Church.
Marge was very active in the Methodist Church her entire life, one of her many joys was singing in the choir. Marjorie also loved dancing, going out to eat, talking on the phone and cooking.
Marge is survived by her daughter, Joy Marian Brookshire, step daughter Sheila Phillips, grandchildren, great grandchildren, surviving brothers John and Gary as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial will be held on November 28, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home: 287 Arden Nollville Road in Inwood West Va 25428. Dinner will be served directly after the memorial at Darkesville United Methodist Church (6705 Winchester Ave, Inwood West Va 25428)
