Obituary for Marion Frank Beard Sr.
Marion Frank Beard, Sr. (Butch), 71, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at his home.
Born March 14, 1949 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Arlington Leroy Beard and Imogene Voorhees Beard.
Butch was a graduate of Martinsburg High School, Class of 1968.
Butch was retired, but had previously worked at E.I. Dupont, Owned, MF Beard Painting, and worked at Doug Copenhaver Construction.
He is survived by son Marion F. “Butchie” Beard, Jr. and wife, April; grandson, Dylan Frank Beard; a brother, Larry Beard and wife, Cathy; nephew, Brandon Beard; niece, Tracey Clark and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Terry Beard.
Butch had a love early on for neighborhood touch football games and wight lifting. He enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach, and also loved hunting and was excellent at using a bow. He loved spending weekends with his son and family four-wheeling. Health issues later in life prevented him from enjoying some of his hobbies, but he had great memories.
Butch also had great friends, Anthony Offutt, Mike Shane and Marvin Brown. He could always count on them.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date close to his birthday, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at his home.
