Obituary for Marilyn Renee Davis (Whitmore)

Marilyn Renee Whitmore began her human journey on July 19, 1966 in Winchester, Virginia. As she slept, with loved ones by her side, she drew her last breath and peacefully left this world on April 6, 2021 at 7:27pm. She was only 54 years old.

Though her beauty was unparalleled, it is her soul that will be remembered and missed beyond measure. A kind and gentle soul pouring through a smile that Illuminated rooms and through her laughter that was infectious, and generously applied to every situation. Her soul, powered by a heart that would quickly forgive….and that loved boundlessly. A soul so beautifully alluring it would require windows as equally captivating. Her eyes - like stars - sparkled with life and radiance and, like stars, only for a moment in time.

Renee fought at every obstacle for the opportunity to relish in any moment with her children and loved ones. Because of this, we know she willed her life to continue, defying death many times due to her extended illness. All her courage and determination would not be enough against a second wave of accelerated cancer. She longed to live, and though her soul was brave and ready...her body simply wasn’t strong enough to fight anymore.

Renee was a daydream believer. A zest for life so great, she never wanted to settle into one thing. Growing up so fast, but also so late in time. In her passing, we struggle as we try to understand how such a life could be taken so early. Though we grieve, it is important to remember that Renee would have us find solace in this: she arrived in heaven...exactly on time.

Her every happiness in life was her children, and her legacy lives on in her three adoring sons; Timothy Aaron Sine, Spencer Wayne Sine, and Kegan Dayton Davis.

Renee is also survived by her mother and father, Marilyn Swartz Smith and Wayne Whitmore; her sister Shannon Whitmore and nieces Lauren and Brooke Thompson; her brother Bret Whitmore and nephew and niece Brayden Gage and Olivia Grace Whitmore.

Our family is humbled by the overwhelming outpouring of love and support of this community and so many friends.
