Obituary for Lucy Carrell Saunier (Wysong)

Lucy “Carrell” Wysong Saunier, 82, of Martinsburg passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

Born October 11, 1938 in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Forrest B. Wysong and Lucie Carrell Skinner Wysong.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Ronald J. Saunier; one son, Ronald J. Saunier, Jr.; one daughter, Carrie Fishel and husband, Gary; two grandchildren, Caroline, and Josh; two brothers, Locke, and Jack (Sharon) Wysong; two sisters, Edna Harris (Bern) and Mary Elizabeth Wysong; sister in-law, Karen Wysong; numerous nieces and nephews; and her ever-faithful companion Buddy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Forrest B. Wysong, Jr.; and sister in-law, Cesarina Maria Wysong.

She and Ron met in Washington, DC in 1963, where they both worked for C&P Telephone Company. She strategically placed herself in the coffee line next to Ron to meet him and the rest is history. In 1974, they moved their family to Martinsburg and opened a rental store, what is today Tri-County Rental, where she remained Vice President, except those couple times he fired her.

She always loved spending time with her family and enjoyed gardening, feeding, and watching the birds on their property, and baking. She was famous for her pecan pie and chocolate chip cookies.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Gooch officiating.
