Obituary for Louis "Lou" Wilbert May

Louis ‘Lou’ Wilbert May, 81 of Gerrardstown, WV, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Winchester Medical Center. Born in Washington, DC on June 3, 1940, he was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert and Helen May and one brother, Richard.

Lou is survived by his loving partner, Linda Kile and her family. Tammy (Kim) Kile of Ijamsville, MD and Tricia (Jamie) Edwards of Bunker Hill, WV. Their grandchildren Emily, Sara, Garrett, Ben, Aiden, Mason, Camdyn and great-grandchild Cleo.

He is also survived by his children Dean, Marcia (Thomas) Fisher, Darren (Missy), and Shawn. His grandchildren Sara (Dale) Lemasters, Laura, Hannah, Joel, and great-grandchildren Mya and Franklin.
Lou leaves behind 8 siblings, Joann O’Donnell (Jerry), Martin May (Sis), John May (Kathy), Paul May (Patty), Mary Benjamin, Christine May (Bob), Stephen May (Muriel) and Rita Mauck (Jim), as well as many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Lou was raised in Northern Virginia and graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, Va. As a career, he followed in the family business of A/C and Heating. He owned his own business, AAA Heating & A/C Services, and served the DMV community for over 25 years. After selling his business he continued to help friends and family across Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. Lou was a licensed pilot and owned his own plane. He enjoyed flying for over 30 years. Lou was an avid golfer. In his younger years he would enjoy flying south to play golf with his sons and friends.

Lou and Linda have lived in Gerrardstown, WV for 13 years. During those years he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time with new friends, playing the machines at local places, grilling steaks and enjoying a cold beer.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Rich Sherrard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the chapel.

Friends are invited to Connections Community Church, Inwood, WV, for a reception following the service.
